Dodge RE Solenoid Code Electrical Quick Tests 2

The correct diagram to use for figures 2 & 3 will have to be determined by looking up the year make and model of the vehicle being worked on to know whether the relay is powered up through the C1 or C3 connector. The diagnostic procedure is the same for both figures.

Diagnostic Procedure;

1. Disconnect harness from transmission and connect another set of solenoids externally to the PCM/ECM harness.

Note: This first test can be used on any vehicle manufacturer with ground controlled solenoids.

2. Key on engine off or running (system dependant) the solenoids may not power up until the engine is running (usually found on models that the relay powers up from the C3 connector).

3. Recheck for codes. The last three figures requires cutting one wire for testing just one solenoid instead of a complete set.

The following diagrams are derived from information that has been carefully compiled from industry sources known for their reliability and should be accurate. Always verify the circuits be tested with factory manuals whenever possible.

Wire colors vary from module to module as well as year to year. Always identify the circuits that are being tested by their connector pin identification.

Note: When jumping voltage to any circuit always use a fusable link for safety and to protect the components being tested.
